Google settled a lawsuit three months ago between itself and more than 30 US states over its app store and practices Androidu. The terms of the settlement were not made public at the time, but have now been revealed by the American tech giant itself.

Google in its new blog contribution stated that it will facilitate sideloading androidof applications. This facilitation will consist in the fact that the two pop-up menus that appear when you try to sideload an application through another application (eg Chrome web browser or Files) will merge into one. In this regard, the company has updated its warning to users about the possible risks of installing applications sideways.

Alternative invoicing options in the Play Store for in-app purchases are part of the court settlement. These will allow developers to display different pricing options in apps (eg offers through the developer's website or a third-party app store). Google reiterated that it has been testing alternative billing in the US for more than a year. However, it should be noted that this pilot project, along with alternative billing in other markets, arose as a result of relatively strong pressure from regulators and politicians.

Finally, the technology giant said that the settlement will cost it 700 million dollars (about 15,7 billion CZK). He specified that $630 million will go to a settlement fund for consumers, while $70 million will go to a fund for suing American states.
