Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has finished developing its 150W charging technology and is starting to test it for mass production, according to a new report. This technology has already been speculated about in the past, similar to an equally powerful solution from Realme.

News.mydrivers.com, citing GSMArena, does not provide any details about Xiaomi's new charging technology. It is also not known when it could appear in the first phone, but considering that its development is said to be complete, it is likely that it could be launched relatively soon.

Since the upcoming Xiaomi Mix 5 is supposed to boast a number of high-end technologies, it is quite possible that the new charging technology will debut in this smartphone (expected to be introduced in the second half of the year). Taking an example from Xiaomi in this area could certainly also be taken by Samsung, whose phones are charged at a maximum of 45 Watts (such performance is supported by e.g. new "flagships" Galaxy S22 + a Galaxy S22Ultra). At the same time, some mid-range smartphones now routinely support e.g. 65W or faster charging, so the Korean giant definitely has a lot to catch up on here.
