Samsung, it seems, has once again shown the way that other smartphone manufacturers can follow. Recently, the company presented a unique collaboration with the company iFixit, which will soon allow customers to repair their devices at home Galaxy using original parts from the Korean giant, iFixit tools and detailed instructions. Now Google has also announced a similar service for its smartphones.

Google will "coincidentally" partner with the same company as Samsung. The US tech giant wants to launch a home repair program "later this year" for Pixel 2 phones and later. Similar to Samsung customers, Pixel users will be able to purchase individual parts or iFixit Fix Kits that will come with the tools. And like the Korean giant, the American one said the program is related to its sustainability and recycling efforts.

However, there is one rather significant difference. Samsung's program is limited to the US for now, while Google wants to launch it in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and European markets that sell Pixel phones through the Google Store (so not here, of course). However, it is very likely that Samsung will gradually expand the service to other countries.
